Soror Rockal Brown Archie was born in Charleston, South Carolina and raised in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. In 1995, Rockal and her twin sister, Rhonda , moved to Anniston, Alabama . After moving to Anniston and enrolling at Anniston High School to complete their 10th grade year, the twins met one of their teachers and future mentors, Hope Henry, who was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Ms. Henry immediately recruited Rockal and Rhonda for the Anniston High School step team and the Rhoer Club. The twins instantly fell in love with Sigma and this is when their fire for Sigma was truly ignited.

Soror Dr. Kimberly A. Moore, a dental surgeon and former president of Theta Tau Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho, has been crowned 2010 Ms. Senior America. Soror Moore, 61, appeared on the Today Show to promote the pageant where she won in October. Soror Moore won representing the U. S. Virgin Islands, where she is currently lives and practices dentistry.

The Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency celebrated 46 years of service at its Annual Luncheon Oct. 29 at The Westin Cincinnati. CAA’s Annual Luncheon is a time to look back over its past year of service to celebrate successes, better understand challenges that lie ahead, and reaffirm its commitment to serving low-income families in our community. This year’s theme “Compassion. Commitment. Change.” reflected the efforts of CAA’s staff, advocates, and allies in alleviating the hardships the community has faced during these tough economic times. Actor and youth advocate Malik Yoba (Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married?” and “New York Undercover”) served as keynote for the event.

Soror Cinnamon Pelly is the Central Region Undergraduate Chapter Coordinator and received the Bridge Builder Award for her support in helping CAA secure funding for several initiatives, including a farmers market and community garden in Avondale.

Grand Basileus, Joann Loveless was honored by the City of Columbia, SC on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Columbia Mayor, Steve Benjamin honored Soror Loveless in recognition of her leadership position in Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Soror Loveless’ 30 year career includes communication leadership and oversight of operations in several countries across the globe in her role at Westinghouse Electric Company. Prior to joining Westinghouse, she was employed by SC Electric and Gas for 14 years. Additionally, Soror Loveless has been heavily involved in community service for more than three decades. While in South Carolina, she served on the local board of directors of the YWCA, worked on literacy initiatives and with the United Way campaign.
