Recognized in the United States in 1995, World AIDS Day, observed December 1 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. recognizes the day by encouraging its members to:

-Partners with local AIDS Service Organizations or health departments

-Hold HIV/AIDS awareness meetings, distribute information, etc.

-Contact CDC for Sigma Gamma Rho/CDC co-branded materials

-Encourage chapter members to get tested
